Attention all BVA Home Owners – Proposed Updates to Homeowner Rules

This committee was asked by the BVA Board to review & update the Bromley Village Rules document.

The proposed redraft is posted to the BVA Website https://bromleyvillage.com/ Please review several new rules and some existing rule revisions, all of which are based on the current rules with changes to meet emerging Condominium standards and to maintain our village as a safe and respectful community. We have considered our own experiences as community members in other locations and now solicit the opinions and comments of other homeowners and Board members.

We reviewed other HOA rules in an effort to produce reasonable standards. Some proposed new rules include monetary penalties for rules violations, a better process for Owners to rent directly to 3^rd party tenants, and a strong encouragement to switch to dark sky compliant lighting. We also refined / clarified the tree trimming/cutting policy and clarified rules regarding noise/quiet hours, fireplace safety and pets/dogs.

As we have a growing number of private rentals, the community must consider how these rentals impact our community life and facilities. Rentals not handled thru Bromley have resulted at times in overcrowding in the units, the pool, and parking; and several would not abide by recent COVID restrictions. Both aggrieved homeowners and our Bromley Staff have noted that – when there is a problem, and the tenancy is NOT a Bromley rental – there may be no one to contact. The intention of the new private rental rules is to make sure that at a minimum we can identify a responsible on site party, and to ensure that Tenants know the Village rules .
